I draw what I see.  Still life to cityscapes, I enjoy the process of making sense of what I see and then getting that on the page.  I often add color with watercolor or colored pencils (sometimes I play with acrylic on wood).  I prefer to sketch on site, and outdoors if possible.  I live in the incredibly beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina with my husband, three children and lap cat.  I can often be found outside with a small sketchbook and pen in hand if I’m not biking or jogging, or chasing my youngest, who happens to be an amazingly fast runner for a four year old.

Originally from north Florida, I’ve grown to love the mountains as much as I love the ocean.  Seventeen years in Western North Carolina, and I still don’t sound like I’m from around here, a visitor from Virginia recently told me.  Accent or not, North Carolina is home, and I am continually encouraged and inspired by the kindness and support of my family and friends, and also by the random people I happen to meet.

I am currently working on a series of pen and watercolor paintings of my favorite places in Asheville, and I am writing a collection of haiku and short poems.  I have also just completed two commissioned pen and watercolor paintings of two beautiful Asheville homes!

Archival prints on cold press fine art watercolor paper are available in 6" x 8", 8.5" x 11", 11" x 14", and 11" x 17" sizes, and can be purchased from me directly.  Please contact me for custom sizes.  Postcards of my Asheville series are also available.  You can find my postcard of The Fine Arts Theatre at Mountain Merch in Biltmore Village, and postcards of my paintings of Double D's Coffee Bus, Le Bon Café, and The L.O.F.T. of Asheville, are now available at those locations, as well as online at www.loftofasheville.com!  My postcard of 67 Biltmore will soon be available at that location!
